Dovetail Design Studio, LLC is a full-service design firm known for its inventiveness, craftsmanship, and fine details. The practice specializes in precise and creative buildings that are tailored to our client’s every need. Our studio takes a hands-on approach to design. No matter how big or small the project, Dovetail brings the same level of focus and dedication to solving design challenges in a unique and holistic way.
Our Founder
Austin J. Bewley
With a lifelong passion for architecture and craftsmanship, Austin founded Dovetail Design Studio with a goal to design and build beautiful homes and furniture that inspire others.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2012, Austin moved to Washington State to begin a year-long study of traditional boatbuilding & yacht interiors at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. There, he learned the art of fine craftsmanship, using traditional joinery and construction techniques. After completing his studies at the NWSWB, he moved to Fort Worth to continue his career in Architecture with a unique perspective on design.
Outside of sketching and designing, Austin enjoys life in DFW with his wife and daughter. They are often hiking, biking, and traveling together. Many of their travels have been a source of inspiration for Austin’s designs.
